Noticeboard

Our Vaccination Teams are working tirelessly to ensure patients are vaccinated as swiftly as possible. We work with 7 other practices as Swift Primary Care Network (PCN) offering vaccinations from our Vaccination Site at Knowle West Healthy Living Centre. We also work with our neighbouring PCN, Bridgeview Medical, to ensure our patients have the best possible opportunities for vaccination.  We are making great progress. Most of our patients over 75 have had a first vaccination and we are now moving into the next groups (over 70's & clinically extremely vulnerable).

We will contact you as soon as we can offer you a vaccination and, on occasion, you may hear directly from Bridgeview Medical.

We are not linked with the NHS letters you may receive offering vaccinations at Ashton Gate but of course you should make the arrangements that best work for you.

X-ray

doctor examining an x-rayAn x-ray is a widely used diagnostic test to examine the inside of the body. x-rays are a very effective way of detecting problems with bones, such as fractures. They can also often identify problems with soft tissue, such as pneumonia or breast cancer.

If you have a x-ray, you will be asked to lie on a table or stand against a surface so that the part of your body being x-rayed is between the x-ray tube and the photographic plate.

An x-ray is usually carried out by a radiographer, a healthcare professional who specialises in using imaging technology, such as x-rays and ultrasound scanners.

You can find out more about x-ray tests, how they are performed, their function and the risks by visiting the NHS Choices website.
